Episcopopoly, Missionary Conquest, and Christian First-Person Shooters
December 01, 2004
The Anglican Communion really is for sale, just in time for Christmas shoppers. Then there is the old classic, Missionary Conquest: “The Christian alternative to Monopoly and Risk! No Bible knowledge is required to play.” And for Christian computer gamers: Rev 7 (a “fun Christian-based 1st Person Shooter!” “Fight your way through seven churches.”). Horror Rules from Crucifiction Games reassures customers that they “in no way condone the worship of or even a casual night out with any of the evil creatures, demonic beings, or sinister demi-gods alluded to in this game or any of its supplements. We also don’t condone wanton violence or destruction (in the real world) as an effective means of solving problems. In other words… it’s just a game.”
