tNP’s newest contributing editor, Randy Boyagoda, has a review in Crisis of Ian Buruma and Avishai Margalit’s Occidentalism: The West in the Eyes of Its Enemies. Randy points out the dangers of post-religious attempts to understand religiously-inspired violence in the current world scene. He also has a guest column on parish closings in Boston that takes “second order” social conservatives to task.
