Culturemakers
February 03, 2005
When I was 39 years old, I heard a story. I found out that there are people walking among us who have culturepowers. These people are called Culturemakers. To a Culturemaker, every path is a path to influence, and every task is an opportunity to shine. Then, just a few months ago, I had the chance to meet a real, live Culturemaker named Andy Crouch.
And this is his true story (you can sing along):
To a Culturemaker (Culturemaker)
When he reads the Gospel (reads the Gospel)
It’s like a path to glory (it’s like a path to glory)
He’s got superpowers (superpowers)
He is a Culturemaker (Culturemaker)
Every day he explodes (explodes and explodes)
Explodes and explodes
Andy Culturemaker
Makes more culture than you
But if you just ask him
You can make culture too
Yeah he has a calling
To influence and power
Some callings are too much
Can’t stop his power (can’t stop him)
‘Cause he’s a Culturemaker (Culturemaker)
Though he looks like a man (talks like a man)
He is a Culturemaker (Culturemaker)
Drinks coffee and beer (coffee and beer)
‘Cause he’s a Culturemaker (Culturemaker)
Loves art and croissants (art and croissants)
He is a Culturemaker
Andy Culturemaker
Makes more culture than we do
He has a calling
To influence and power
Some callings are too much
Or, as Deuce Bigaloe (European Gigalo), a.k.a., the Richmeister might say, “Aaaaaaa-ndy! Makin’ culture. Andirino-o, culture-makin’-man. M.C. Andster–It’s CULTURE-time! Baron Andy von Crouchenmeister, makin’ it with the culture machine! Aaand-o-matic, the cultchinator! Andy C. Culch-culch-culch, go AAAndy! go AAAndy! go AAAndy! Culture. Makin’ culture. Andy.”
